Pico do Areeiro
32.7356, -16.9289
At 1,818 metres the third highest peak on Madeira, Portugal, behind only Pico Ruivo and Pico das Torres. The summit is one of the most accessible high points in the Atlantic, reached by a paved road that ends at a small car park. A trig point and a plaque mark the top. It sits above the cloud line for much of the year; on clear days the view reaches Pico Ruivo. The peak lies on the boundary between the municipalities of Câmara de Lobos, Santana and Funchal. The climate is markedly cooler than at sea level.
